Are you flexing your idea muscle?

In this episode of the Content Warfare Podcast, we walk through a list of 9 essential ideas for content marketing success every online business must embrace.

The list was created out of a new daily practice I picked up from James Altucher and his book The Choose Yourself Guide to Wealth, which is the follow work to James’s smash bestseller, Choose Yourself. In the Choose Yourself Guide to Wealth, James highlights his daily practice of writing down ten new ideas every day as keystone to success.

The goal is to become an idea machine.

Since the release of my new book Content Warfare, I’ve felt like the complete opposite of an idea machine. The truth creating has been a struggle. Its not so bad as writer’s block, but everything I’ve created has felt forced and lackluster.

Willing to try anything, I turned to James’ daily practice and so far (only two weeks in) I’ve already begun to feel a small change in the flow of ideas.

This week’s episode is one of my more recent lists which I thought would make a good discussion.


The 9 Essentials of Content Marketing Success

Here is the list of ideas exactly as I wrote them down while exercising my idea muscle.

1) The Headline Matters

2) Attract Their Eyes (Images matter too)

3) Respond to Comments (Engagement)

4) Original Content Wins

This was the very first lesson I learned online and it’s still as true today as it’s ever been. The creators win. What will you create?

5) Support Those Who Support You

Your audience takes time out of their own lives to be with you. Respect and appreciate that simple fact. Give back whatever and however you can, as often as you can.

6) Consistency

Consistency builds trust. There is nothing more important than trust.

7) Turn Them On (Make them think)

Your audience looks to you to help them grow. Own that responsibility and push.

9) Do Your Best Work Where You Do Your Best Work
