Five Rules of Agency Automation

GUEST CONTRIBUTOR – RICK CZAJKOWSKYJ From QUOTEPRO

He Who Automates Survives...

Whether you run a one hundred agent shop or you are a one man show every agency needs to incorporate automation in a way that makes the day to day workflow more manageable.

We need solutions that bring in new business, help maintain renewals, and work quickly.  We need automation that makes great agents.

Here are five rules to make sure you’re automating properly:

1.  Rating that is FAST

If we are going to be successful as agents time is of the essence.  Spending more than two minutes on getting a quote can lead a customer to another agency.  Stop going from one website to another and getting quotes – we don’t pull rate manuals off the shelf anymore and site hopping is the digital equivalent.  Find a rating program that gets you accurate quotes FAST.

2.  Consumer Facing Website

Does your website say what you would to a customer who walks through the door?  You need to treat every web visitor as you would a customer visiting you in the office.  In other words, make sure your website can provide quotes, sell policies and accept payments from visitors.  Make the web your new sales partner – it works twenty four seven and on holidays.

3.  Real Time

With one click you get instant access to insurance company information related to your customer.  Up to the minute information can be used for rating, policy inquiry and most recently policy issuance.

4.  Follow Up

Keep in contact with your customers and prospects through automated email marketing.  If your customer has a payment due or a renewal coming up, an automatically generated email does the job of contacting the customer for you.  For a prospect – follow up marketing emails help deliver your agency’s message over and over again.

5.  Management

Let automation tools help you take a massive task and make it manageable.  With an ever increasing pool of your own leads coming through your sales avenues make sure you have a lead management system in place.  Automatic tracking and prospecting reminders create value in not having to worry if you’ve covered all the bases for a lead.

Do you know of any companies that help automate your insurance website so that a visitor can purchase a p&c policy directly from your site without even talking to you? Thanks for your help
  • Nick,

I think that Astonish Results may do that. or I would contact Rick the guest contributor for this post. That is much his expertise than mine.

Good luck and let me know how you make out.

    Thanks,
