I read a lot. One of the authors listed below, Jeffrey Gitomer, said in one of his many high quality titles that if you’re going to stop learning, why start in the first place (or something like that)? The point is in today’s business climate just showing up isn’t good enough. If your not trying to be great, than you are just waiting to retire.
Learning, (in this case through books), is a very important part of striving for business greatness. The following list of books are titles that I have read and feel hold immense quantities of value to business professionals. No matter what industry you’re in and no matter what role you play in your organization these books will help you on your journey to greatness. (Disclaimer: The links to all these books are Amazon Listings)
- The Sales Bible: The Ultimate Sales Resource
– Jeffrey Gitomer is a truly a sales genius. Call him hokey, maybe, but don’t say that his books do not motivate to higher business goals!
- Think and Grow Rich
– Calling Napolean Hill inspirational is like calling the Aurora Borealis nice. If you want to get your business mind cranking, this book is a Must Read!
- Outliers: The Story of Success
– Malcolm Gladwell, do I need to say anymore? He bends your perception of greatness and makes you strive harder to achieve it.
- Never Eat Alone
– Keith Ferrazzi explains why relationship is always what matters most.
- The Wedge: How to Stop Selling and Start Winning
– Randy Schwantz’s no nonsense approach to selling demolishes the competition. One technique doesn’t always work so you might as well know them all.
- The Smartest Guys in the Room
– Bethany McLean describes the amazing rise and scandalous fall of Enron. There are brilliant lessons to be learned from this story.
If you live in the world of business any and all of these books will be worth your time. Never stop learning about how to become great. For when you do, its time to retire…
