Attention New York State residents! The NYS Department of Motor Vehicles recently approved the use of online defensive driving courses.  The defensive driving course in new york provides two benefits:

• reduction of your driver violation point total by a maximum of four points, and.
• savings of 10 percent on your automobile liability and collision insurance premiums.

Follow this link for NYS DMV approved online defensive driving course.  The 10 percent yearly discount in Auto insurance premium is good for 36 months.  In most cases the savings in premium will pay for the class and then some in the first year.  I highly recommend every driver in your household taking the online version of this class.  The discount is too good to pass up.

Just remember that once you have taken the class you will still need to forward the class completion certificate on to your insurance broker to ensure the discount is applied.
